Forever

Now it's only cold
But memories never go
Deep inside and in the mind
Love will never grow old

Look back at it all
At winter's crystal ball
Just never enough to go around
Just want to be left alone

Look back out of habit
It’s true and got to have it
Only you and me can set us free
Like in the time when we both had it.

They don't tell you in fairytales what happens
In life, in love and in between
You think that nothing could ever go wrong
But then love isn't always what it seems

It starts with the hardest hit you have ever taken
Your heart stopped dead; well, missed a beat
From that moment you couldn’t imagine
Someone more perfect that you could ever meet

Of course things were perfect for a distance;
It got stronger day by day
But a good thing don't last forever
And a lot of sadness came our way.

You hate to love and don't want to hate them
For tearing so much of you away
Not just the love we had for each other
But for another that will never fade

You try to look for love in another
But you know it will never be the same
Each person never meets the standard
But how high the standard's just insane

Years have gone and the past is history
It made us who we are today
Let's try and relight the candle
To forever make the darkness fade away
