Will I be judged?

Will I be judged?

A Poem by Ether Gabriel

I can't tell you how I feel, but I'm gonna show you the light -
Can't you feel the rising force that's shining bright tonight?
Reach out and grab my hand; we're gonna walk the lonely road
We're going to a new horizon; gonna show you a new world.

Gotta find our paradise, it's waiting for you 'n' me
We're the eagles flying high, high up in the sky
Across the mountain tops, glazed with sheets of white
The winding rivers blue, glistening crystal in the night

You gotta believe in me, what's waiting? You will see
Is it emptiness, or is there something meant to be?
Do you believe in fate, or do you believe the same as me?
It's plain to see baby, I'm no good with authority

I'm just a country white boy that is plain to see
Don't know how to follow, I don't know how to be
There is something out there, which isn't easy for me
We're just a small play in this game called destiny.

Bless me for who I am, 'cause baby I have sinned
I live the only way; the only way I know how
Is it weakness? As in my mind is where I hide
As the human race has turned a blind eye

There is no judging, until the judgement day
Then we will find out if there is another game to play
Reincarnation? Or the gates of pearly white
I don't know how it will end, but I will live for tonight.

Will there be fire in the skies?
Will there be peace at the end of the lies?
Will there be someone when the light begins to fade?
Will I be judged, I will be judged?

I'm on my knees and I'm begging please
I'm just man, I've done all I can
Life's at an end, and after it all
I have no regrets.
You are the one; the only one
I'm in your grace, I've made mistakes
And as I draw my last breath
I will ascend.

Wow, this was such an amazing poem. As I read through it, it felt like I was reading through song lyrics. This had its own rhythm, almost as if it was meant to be made into a song.

Your last stanza was what struck out to me. The last line made it all the more powerful. Great job. After reading this poem, I'll definitely check out more of your works!

Keep writing!
