The Devil's Den

The Devil's Den

A Poem by VertoAtrum

Lucid eyes whose glances are knives' edge,

Blue like a blind's and dark as the underworld,

Hands that slowly suffocate, words that strangle,

A single look can tell the future and it's all foretold

Silence never told such a story,

Innocence is plagued, sin quickly forgiven,

This is to escape from the devils' playground,

And kill the snake, bite the fruits of Eden

A heart beating only because of blood,

Veins that run drugged rivers, a twisting tongue,

A deceit that has sex appeal and intoxication,

Like scorpion's poison, the words spoken stung
