you have to trust your struggle
and darling i know it's not easy
with all the crap you've got to juggle
but it'll only last briefly 

with all the people hating
all the bonds are breaking
learn to coexist
don't cry over everything you've missed 

learn to appreciate the finer things in life 
and don't dwell over spilled milk or burned white rice
you should cry for all the good not because of the bad 
it's about what you have now not what you had

everyone is a good person some just don't show it
they try to make people happy but they blow it 
know it's your job to make the world a better place 
and wipe away the tears that run along your face 

know that lies hurt more than the truth
don't ignore that and just blame it on your youth 
learn to take advice from other people
whether they're on the street or under the steeple

people are going to ask who you are
they don't mean your name or your type of car
you should say that you're everyone you've ever known
that those people are the only reason why you've ever grown
