Boy

Boy

A Poem by Eliot Marz
"

This is about myself, really. A look into many things. Gender somewhat, but mostly just my identity in general, and where I'm headed.

"

Boy, you've torn your own heart out of your chest.

Boy, you've turned it into confetti for your funeral,

because Boy, they'll surely be celebrating.

Boy, there's nothing to say to you.

Boy, you once held the key to the future,

but Boy, now it's not in your hands.

Boy, you once were a force to be reckoned with.

Boy, you tossed it all out the car window as you drove away,

because Boy, it's over.

Boy, I don't know how else to say it.

Boy, there's no netting to save you from the fall,

because Boy, you destroyed every last relationship you had.

Boy, the key to self-destruction is to let the darkness in.

Boy, you let the darkness in, alright.

And Boy, don't forget who you were before you descended to your Hell.
