The Scars Within

THE SCARS WITHIN

There…I feel them

touching my very soul…

marks for the wounded

to carry forever.

A lifetime to dwell

deep within me…

each step I take…

a torture.

Tormented throughout my journey…

within me…the pain.

Loved ones lost…

to who knows where…

and the agony takes its toll.

Come for me…

however fleeting the moment.

Touch me tenderly…

let me feel you once more…

a melding of hearts.

Look into my eyes…

and etch forever into my mind…

a balance…

to negate the scars within.

You know the pain of loss and express well the torment and the agony - ,and the need if the comfort of love.

I like the directness and structure if your writing. You might experiment with imagery, often a powerful way of conveying the emotion you describe.
