Sweet

Sweet

A Poem by EverEmma

I am not your red velvet cake
I am not something hidden behind layers of disguise
For what I really am
Is not sugar covered

I have a hard biting edge
Of cinnamon
Try eating a spoonful of that
You'd be surprised

Underneath these chocalate eyes
Is a hard center
But if you have the patience
You will melt my core

You will need scissors
To remove my wrapper
You can't tear me apart
Using only your fingers

I'm no sheet cake
I have more than one layer
With a strawberry filling
Don't get your hands sticky

Yeah. I really want cake now. Thanks Emma. Thanks alot lol.

On a lighter note, this was incredible. Long metaphors make me happy on the inside, and this beautifully crafted piece is no exception.
