Inhale the pine scented breeze is the only line of comfort here after a poem containing much pain. It is in sharp contrast to my own scent of pine poem whose intent was to bring light and peace.

Be numb to me

When experiencing the pain of relationships, that short phrase says it all. Anything to do away with the pain.

Thanks for the share Freds.

Would be nice to escape easily to the pine scented breeze. I felt the honest tone in your words dear friend. When we decide to run. Need a place to go. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Ah yes, relationships. When they're happening, time seems unimportant. When they end, you realise how much time has passed. The hourglass doesn't come with an off-switch. When they're happening, you're looking at yourself in The Other. When they end, you're free to set narcissism aside and see the sun rise for the first time. Hooray for the eastern horizon. "the mirror put away" has a TSEliot ring to it. As in other poems of yours, Red, there's a sense of opposites being introduced to one another.

Thanks kindly Nick. Sometimes it feels like opposites are sides of a selfsame coin.
in the wake of my posting Smoke, I take some solace in knowing I was/am not the only one who felt a hurricane howl through recently. Hope all is well my friend

this took me to my most recent relationship and how it soured because of the judgmental, acid attitudes I saw in her...they were certainly camouflaged for a good while.
People change, but often people's real selves take awhile to surface.
