So much more to you

So much more to you

A Poem by Red Brick Keshner
"

To those of us that suffer from writer's block, as we all do from time to time.

"
`

and when you find
you cannot write
and will not write
read

read and scribble
until you are able
find your hand
again

and let the Muse
she your guide
your soul hide
again

and again find
your feet once more
in the shadows
read

I listen to the verbal books on YouTube now when I write. I listen to "The picture of Dorian Gray' and Bukowski book "Women" this week. When the ancient writers write. They make me want to write. I love song too. I found a song called the "One tin soldier". Gave me reasons to write. I must read to write dear Frederick. I hope you are doing well and having some fun. I fought the flu for four days. I finally broke the sickness tonight. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Very good advice. Reading is the twin to writing. Ideas come from it and it relaxes the brain. Nicely stated.

Thanks Soren. The twin idea is quite apt. An exchange of ideas occur and the friction sparks a fire .. read more
Hi there Freds,
I have been away from reading, reviewing and writing for about a month.
Yesterday i went through a journal I wrote 20 odd years ago.
It was a journal of automatic writing... I learned about this when I read books by Natalie Goldberg...
So so interesting to read what I scribbled... much it was impossible to decipher. Just 4 pages a day...
The idea is to just write without thinking..if that makes sense... Not an easy task...because throughout my pages I would write that I was thinking again and again...our brains just do that.. Anyway, I found it rather interesting to read your words today as they so connect to what I was thinking about yesterday...
I love the way you wrote this...so so clever.

Oh yes, Lisa! I had journals, sheets and sheets of auto-writing. And much of it was indecipherable! .. read more

Over the years, I have learned that sometimes I just don't have anything to say. It's then that I need to fill myself up again. Still, the absence leaves me with the feeling that a part of my soul is missing. I never seem like me if I am not writing.

The first stanza is a great introduction to the rest of the poem and a standout all alone.
