As though I were a psychoanalyst.

As though I were a psychoanalyst.

A Poem by Cherry
"

.

"
I'm in the mood
for your musings.
Release
with eyewitness
memory
the talking cure,
byte by byte,
word by word.

To deduce
unruly angers,
tumultuous loves,
and concrete
notions
deep within
your unconscious
is my sworn
ambition.

Conceivably,
I may unravel
your reveries
for years.

How strange
I too
express thoughts
in similar ways!

So talk to me
through poetry.
Let us
get comfortable,
I'll listen
if you will.

Are reviewers, in some strange way, psychoanalysts?

It seems sometimes we are psychoanalysts. We get caught up I'm messages and express our views rather than review the actual writing.
But hey, why not? Makes for some very interesting conversations. In my mind some of the best poetry invokes thought and conversation.
well written, with a nice rythm.

Thank you for the review.
I think you are closer to the truth than what you may think. The barriers in our minds may hinder a professional to unravel our stubborn idiosyncrasies, yet poetry often may reveal, even if unintentionally, those depths we may have tried to kept hidden.

The invitation to the reader in this poem is non-threatening and comforting, stirring a willingness to share.

Hey, I have a brilliant idea for you.......start poetry classes for psycho-analysts!! Who knows, maybe the romanticism of Shakespeare may get them further than the cold analysis of Freud or Jung.....:)

Great poetry!
