The Star

The Star

A Poem by DrD

In your slumber you never knew

I went to the balcony in the midst of night

In the Alps of the city with gaudy neon

And searched for a single star

And there was none, not a single one

To hang my hopes on

And from a distance I watched you

Mouth slightly open, the cloud of your hair

Spread across the pillow

The sheet above you boasting

Of each rise and hollow of you

And your beauty made me afraid

It came so easily

You and me becoming us

There was no planning or conspiring

It was simply one night

When you did not go home

And the next day you started redecorating

Somehow you sensed your aloneness

And your eyes opened

And seeing me, you smiled

And patted the space beside you

Your head then rested on my shoulder

And from the window I could see a star

Each time I read something of yours I find myself sighing. Darn you :P My quirky self doesn't like to be distracted by romance and yet I keep reading more. "Somehow you sensed your aloneness/and your opened". Beautiful :) It's amazing how different your romance is from the teenage "romance" I have to deal with everyday. It's refreshing to read something like this. Even if it does make me sigh :P
I LOVE it :D :D :D :D

Thank you, Thomas, for your visit
So beautiful, a thing so longed for that feels so natural when it finally comes along. The intensity of the love shines through in the second verse.

This is exactly how it is suppose to be when it is right, it's easy, it's effortless. No trials, no love games, everything just falls into place, or at least seems to, if he has me jumping through hoops it's probably not the right circus. This is exquisite, thank you :) I thank you because you remind me again, why I do what I do.

Of coarse this is Good. But I would like to hear the rest. Unlike your other writings this seemingly to me is holding back some details.
I would like to hear this said again or added to Only because I love your work so much I don't want to miss anything.

We will progress as we go, Kate. I promise.
This is so lovely and gently beautiful, and comforting. How this woman made you see things that you couldn't see previously. Amazing, as always.

Jo, do you know how much I appreciate you? Thanks for always being here with and for me.
How perfectly complete
You made the universe
And me ..

It's to early for my eyes to fill .. but they are, anyway ..
You always take me straight to the center of everything
Thank you for the special Poem .. Jazzy xx
