A moment in time

A moment in time

A Poem by DrD

The same cafe each morning

Ham, two eggs staring at me

Like eyes or breasts

I sit beside the window

Watching people pass

Each lost within themselves

Uncaring and immune

To anything beyond their lives

She sits in the corner

Sipping coffee, jotting notes

Oblivious to surroundings

Or my constant stare

She holds the cup as you did

Like you, she is aware of her beauty

But disinterested if others are

And she reminds me . . . .

Suddenly she lifts her eyes

And captures my vigilance

She frowns and looks away

As if offended

I turn again beyond the window

Where people have destinations

Moving hurriedly through life

And where yesterday is a stranger

Some shoes are to big to fill

As eyes and hearts close

We walk on, down tomorrow's road

Touches places .. brings love back to mind ... Jazz xx

As I was reading through I kind of drew a scene in my mind, like a little small movie clip. What I saw was amazing!!!

Another lovely write from your memory bank. I especially love the last line. A most moving and melancholy write.
