The yellow dressA Poem by DrDWe never kissed in public You didn’t like that. “I don’t need to show people That I love you They should be able to see My yellow dress.”
I didn’t understand: There were so many of your ideas And traditions unknown to me. “Your dress is white,” I observed And you giggled and held my arm tightly Pressing your cheek against my chest.
“In Italy a woman wears her love Like a yellow dress It is bright and brilliant Because it is the color of her heart And all the wonders in it.” You told me with a sweet nod.
It was then I saw it. The simple yellow dress That clung to the splendor of you And sang hymns in adoration To the trinity of us You and me and love © 2013 DrD |
