Just a Dream

Just a Dream

A Poem by ExposedSiren
"

I almost prefer nightmares...

"
The sweetest of dreams are nothing but a waking curse,
A lingering taste left in your mouth,
The last note a lover leaves...
I believe that dreams are messages, but these...
These are simply just gifts,
Gifts I do not want,
Presents I do not need,
Visions I do not deserve...
Sweet dreams are nothing but
A wish left unfulfilled,
A distant memory being relived,
An escape offered to those running...
I will never give in easily to the feeling of leaving this reality,
Because coming back can hurt so terribly...
Yet I can't wait for the lull and the quiet,
and the occasional breathtaking sight....
I'll wake up once more with the gentlest of sighs,
and enjoy the last few minutes of my fading reverie...
