Catharsis

Catharsis

A Poem by Anne Korhonen
"

A philosophical poem inspired by Aristotle's concept of catharsis in Poetics

"
Purified body and mind
have swallowed all negativity
I'm psychologically pure
by religious cure
of anxiety and tension
in full God's attention
I feel relieved
because to compassion I believed
I experienced tragic fear
but by purifying me God made it clear
that I can use my tragedy to help someone else
and drink holy water from sacred wells
I tidied the rooms of my body temple
no more toxins making it tremble
Removed satanic seeds
by my holy charitable deeds
The long pain came and went
because my gifts are heaven sent
I feel noble and uplifted
as my tragedy to comedy shifted
