In This Our Life of Fear

In This Our Life of Fear

A Poem by John Fitzgerald
"

I'm experimenting with established forms of poetry, but I can't write anything else other than advise to myself.

"

No matter what you hear
Take this moment to heal;
Never give into fear.

Warnings may appear
But, go by what you feel;
No matter what you hear.

You may shed a tear;
Don’t harden into steel,
Just keep your loved ones near.

Though at the top they sneer
While your humanity they steal
Don’t give in my dear.

You are my peer,
You and I both know the deal;
No matter what we hear.

In this our life of fear
They’re manufactured lies aren’t real.
Don’t close off my dear
No matter what you hear.
