Sorry s such a sad word...

'Sorry'

What makes
Us make the
Mistakes-
That to
'Sorry'
Us do take?

Is it all
These fake
Feelings
That make
Us not
Understand
The meaning
Of all of
This life-

When present
Situations arise
And you take
Part
Of what may
Seem
Innocent then-
Its those actions
That bring
A reaction
Of us
Being 'sorry,'

Its that
Empty feeling
And it brings
Unbelieving-
Not knowing
Where you
Are,
Where you belong
And
What you have
Become,

Its that
Empty
Feeling
That you
Can only
Blame yourself-
For choices
You may
Have felt
Were right-
Yet you
Know
Would land up
Wrong-
Or
Did you?

The sadness,
That nothing
Or nobody
Can remove-
Only you can
Prove
To yourself,
And others-
How 'sorry'
You really are-

Or can you?

Will they believe
You?
The soul
Is torn
Apart,
What was it
From the
Start?

Why do we only
Understand
Things
Once too
Late?

There may
Always
Be mistrust-
The happiness
You thought
You had
Found-
And now
You would
Rather drown-

Drowning
In your
Sorrows,
As if
There's no
Tomorrow,
Is where you
Go,
When that
'Sorry'
Does not
Let you
Go...

I really agree with your analysis of the word sorry and the idea of apology in general. I really enjoy the phrasing of the second-to-last verse, a clever poem that makes no time for remorse or apology.

I did things I could not forgive myself. Love demand payment. I learn later in life. Every gift of love was a wonderful gift. I do believe in Karma. I pay for 10 year in triples for my my deeds and actions. Thank you dear Poet for sharing your amazing poetry.
