Hunter's shadow

Hunter's shadow

A Poem by William
"

Highly inspirated by Gavin Dunne's "Paleblood Moon" song

"
Through an endless dream I stumble,
All my thoughts have long decayed.
My vision's blank, my mind is shattered
As I walk the crooked alleyway.

I feel His presence in the shadows;
The Dark himself, he watches me
As if I were a mere target,
A prey to feast upon once slain.

He slowly crawls and gets in sight:
His hands are crooked, his skin is darker
Than any night you dreamt about
While lying held by darkest nightmare.

I see him now, I hear the bells,
But to let go he is reluctant,
He grips my flesh with deadly hands,
He smirks, and he devours me.

And now, embraced the shadow, here I stand,
I hear the echoes and I smell the blood of fallen.
And now I hunt the ones who's trapped in dream.
I am the beast, I am the hunter. I'm the fallen.

Susperb, absolutely superb...I love it when writers or poets talk about the dark. Love the hearing of the bells bit. Am i correct in saying that you are referencing this little bit towards for who the bell toll - if you are then it is a brilliant little additions to your superb peom.

The end bit finished this poem off perfectly.

Mark.
