Children of silence

Children of silence

A Poem by R.A. Youngblood

You will walk and jump off the edge in the new years and centuries
And I will make a few steps and peek for my whole life in that
Tremendous chasm.
But I know I'm not alone.
Many sons of the same silence are out there,
Waiting.
Hiding endless tales within a motion.
Reaching for something tamed by inscrutability.
Crying and praying above the nameless graves.
Carrying their heavy hearts and still becoming
A complete, lovely and peaceful beings.
Staying away from the influences and environment
That others are shaping for them.
Knowing that violence will never sound like violins
And musical equivalent of silent rain.
Trying to set back all the clocks
And wondering why a miracle is always a mirage.
Pulling themselves out of the skins of beasts rayed with mercy.
With their walking shadows,
They have the future born forgotten.

We are never alone in our pain, many forget that. Others goes through the same stuff we do, even worse maybe. I've gone through my share of pain and have days when that pain returns, but I always remember that it could always be worse.
