Hunt

A vision of the early spring

The year long hunt for an ember of feelings

A dying fire burns within my pain

A lover long past

Still aches within my slow beating heart

I'd give a prayer along

If I knew

How

If I understood

How could I ever be

So wrong

Was I painted with stupidity

A birth defect perhaps?

I wouldn't know

I am finally horrendous

I have finally faced my pain

And I have lost

I have tried

Ever harder for every lover

And I have died

A thousand times over

Lost

I've been defeated

The scum of the earth

Killer

Heroine

Green eyes

Nameless

This has finally torn me down

The Hero Has Fallen

Rising above the usual

Only to fall

Doomed to fail

Feeling old

Like my pages

Dead

Like my emotion

It seems like the lines above. We cannot win. I don't know. My old age had taught me even a short time in bliss are the good days and nights. Thank you for sharing your words. A excellent poem.
