Lonely

Lonely

A Poem by Follan

I am lonely,
I want to be loved,
But no matter how hard I try ,
No one seems to notice
It's like trying to pretend to be swan when you are a duck,
Ugly duck,
No matter how you try,
You'll never be a swan,
I try so hard,
But I'm just a pest,
I am surrounded by swans,
But I am the only one,
Lost, rowdy,
I look at how easily they obtain love,
Even if a duck tries to dress up and make up,
It'll still be a duck,
Why don't they see I want to be loved too,
But nobody likes a malcontent ,
So, I put on smile and pretend I don't need love,
Pretend that my heart isn't empty ,
Even if deep in my heart I am,
I'm lonely,
I'm lost ,
Why don't they see that I want to be loved?
I can only pray for the swans,
I am blithe ,
Even if I know no one will see that I am trying,
Even if love is unsparing, I am blithe, I know I am not fit to be loved by swans.
Smile, smile,smile
