Marigolds

Marigolds

A Poem by Follan

At your darkest times ,
You expect them to support you,
Instead they shun you,
Talk about your mistakes,
And flaws,habits and lies,
They think they have done nothing wrong,
In their point of view that is,
In their point of view, you are the wrong one,
You are expected to work hard ,be flawless,
And understand them,
They never stop and think,
If they have committed they same crime before,
They need you to be what you are not,
Yet it seems like they only remember your flaws,
Even when they know they are important to you,
They let your glowing soul,
Slowly become dust,
They think their way is okay,
But like the small white flowers,
They seem to forget that they are not the only soul with pain,
Mistakes and devastating traumas,
Secrets and memories,
They wish to forget,
At the darkest times,
They shun you,
So at their brightest moments,
Leave them,
I gave you my only thornless rose,
While you gave me priceless marigolds,
