Wagging Tongues

Wagging Tongues

A Poem by Le' Pugh'
"

The verse at the end of this refers to folks who know God but ignore His admonitions... I don't expect everyone to get it. That's cool.

"

When you spew your hatred in some general direction,

Stop and think; your words just might disclose YOUR indiscretion?

Though you suppose your prattling is precious beyond measure,

You’ll drown in fury as you’re words are simply selfish pleasure.

With vile and venom dripping from your fork-ed tongue like honey,

You gather up your forces with such craftiness and cunning,

You leave your victims bleeding carcasses on highways,

Picked by vultures clean; your senses reeling in your sly ways.

Be careful what relationship you have with lying slivers!

The fate that should befall them gives my tingling spine the shivers,

Bones are dry and whitened by the sun’s relentless burning,

Left there in the pits of Sheol; your spirit ever churning.

And yearning toward the heavens for some drop to slake your thirst,

It’s then you will discover that your fate could not be worse,

You had the chance to dwell there with the Savior by your side,

Instead, you chose your wagging tongue to be your lovely bride.

Romans 1:29-35 (New International Version)

29...They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Outstanding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Readers who have not discovered your writings just don't know what they are missing. Scott, you are without a doubt one of the most talented and exciting author on Writer's Cafe today.

Every one who reads this should do more than just read it . They should take it to heart and think about it and try to understand how gossip affects people, and the harm it can do.

The Bible also says: James 3: 6 & 9 (6) The tongue is a fire. The tongue is constituted a world of unrighteousness among our members, for it spots up all the body and sets the wheel of natural life aflame.
(9) With it we bless Jehovah, even (the) father, and yet with it we curse men who have come into existence "in the likeness of God".

Well done my friend.

With vile and venom dripping from your fork-ed tongue like honey,

Wow this is alot like how most of the people in the world are like, they use their tounge as a weapon and thinks that it is ok and brag, and to them it's honey.

Good write.

This is a great message - perhaps we should all take to adhering to watching what we say perhaps...the wagging tongue brings much dismay. Thank you.
