glass ceiling

glass ceiling

A Poem by Ben Walton

you're another ghost bringing on the apocalypse
and you fire so fast we can't keep up with our injuries.
but they get in our heads, six more words
two more minutes and they've got the point across
our boundaries of incompetence.
we keep listening
until we're gazing blankly up and we can't seem to
break this glass ceiling of a television screen.

HA. This is clever. I love it. The last line packs a good-natured punch... Thanks again for entering the contest, and best of luck to you in it!
