There Are Times

There Are Times

A Poem by Fargo X. Williams

The whippoorwill's song is near,
It doesn't take much to bend my ear,
The night is home to thoughts which stray,
There are times when I do obsess,
More often now, I must confess,
giving them leave to have their way,
Familiar faces passing by
pressed up against a starry sky,
No tarnish comes with years of age,
Their voices mingling with the wind
bring a tear remembering when,
when they had graced my yesterdays,
Of one thing I'm sure as night brings day
your love within will never fade,
even after time has bid farewell,
Guide me safely with your touch of hand,
Fetching me gently home again
in arms I've come to know so well.
