Versailles Ghost Train

2nd April 2014 A.D., County of Greenup, Commonwealth of Kentucky,

Four Fifty Eight - Kentucky State Highway.

1. It began at Mount Zion, at that ancient leaning timber bridge.
2. There was magic in that moment, we were four, and more!
3. Alone they crossed the Beech, but together we ran Chaplin ridge,
4. Picking up pace, we race across great waters, soaring shore to shore.

Two Forty Eight - Kentucky State Highway

5. Foghorn rumble strip, now just what IS that noise?
6. Tumbling about, daddy has to shout, but it wasn't me!
7. There is the cut, we found it again my rowdy boys.
8. On the Wild Turkey Road, we descend past cedar tree.

Forty Four - Kentucky State Highway

9. Around the bend, the bottom spreads, rows and rows of corn.
10. Lord have mercy, four solid miles of turkeys, roosting on stalks!
11. Glensboro's too much, never have I seen such, not since I was born.
12. Hundreds of Toms, hundreds of hens, so THIS is where God walks!

Sixty Two - United States Highway

13. And right past the China Box, and plumb on through the burg.
14. Crossed over those tracks and around the liquor factory,
15. just to soar again, beside the iron trestle, give steering wheel a jerk.
16. So far the adventure for the explorers had been satisfactory.

Sixteen Eighty Five - Steele Road

17. We just had to turn the thing around and double back.
18. Almost to Versailles but what'd I see, must've lost my brain!
19. But sure enough, on second take, there it sat on the track!
20. From the magic at Mount Zion to Milner, there's the ghost train!
