Hands Up, Don't Shoot! (Michael Brown Jr median hump)

Hands Up, Don't Shoot! (Michael Brown Jr median hump)

A Poem by FarisGreybear

sunday, 8 march 2015 a.d., Pharohs Graebaer

strange fruit, blood on the blacktop, no leaves
dog whistle the dead, more modern lynching
bloated, fly-covered, terrorize all the streets
pay more fines, walk in lines, soul drenching

and swallowed in grief, fear beyond disbelief

infanticide homicide, human complexion living hide
state violence, hours of silence, human median hump
taxed for more revenue, the bureaucratic genocide
at last, the corpse bagged, now where do we dump...

topsy turvy, autopsy perturbs me, forget about the loot

still the bodies swing, and the congregations sing
spectacle of savagery, barbarous public servants
no rule of law, no justice, no peace, no freedom ring
licensed with ill will, murderous without hesitance

harvest more strange fruit, and Hands Up, Don't Shoot!

----dedicated to El-Hajj Malik El Shabazz, 5/9/25-2/21/65, rip x
