Omens.

Omens.

A Poem by Fay Slimm

Omens.

I chased this evening
evening's fading, streak-framed
silver tin-foiled filigree
tied to grey-as-granite mountains.

I watched tinted fate
wave farewell, viewed night's
comforting planet parade
fired from dark un-starred silence.

I walked under change
of ethered hues, dusk-mooned
sickle-upright, orb-faced
smiling thru' dry-as-dust gloom.

I saw in Sol's goodbye
sun-down purple-trailed azure
fight mourning as bright
sunk below a real-as-clear halo.

I conquered tonight
midnight demons, re-lived love,
and thwarted grief as sign's
neoteric omens appeared above.

such a positive last stanza....not afraid of the dark, demons no longer live there.
And what is really perfect here is how the alliteration works to enhance the description.
what seems to be just a poem about a sunset transitions wonderfully into a philosophy of the human spirit.

Beautiful imagery of sunset in all its glory, stealing the last of light. There is comfort in darkness, it can embrace you like a blanket. I have no fear of the dark. There is more to fear in what you see in broad daylight. Lovely lines Fay.

I did Fay and your posted image was as special as your lines.
