Swimming

Swimming

A Poem by Madison Wagner

It's either I never surface or I am always floating downstream, my mind takes me places I have always dreamt of but never knew,
that sometimes these dreams might possibly come true.
So I spend endless nights thinking about how life's like a lemonade stand....
You'll have to fight a few wasps,
and you will meet a lot of people you don't know...
but in the end if you didn't make as much as you wanted,
you had fun.

But my mind always turns my fists to guns,
Never letting me have fun because I was too busy wondering,
Wondering if I had never surfaced....
Because I never learnt how to swim.
