Shiver

Shiver

A Poem by Rowan Tyler
"

This is a poem I wrote based on a book I love that inspired me so much I just had to write this.

"

Through the Frigid whisper of snow,
two hearts cross;
Heartache following, unrelenting;
full of the bitter regret of loss.

The Paw of Life,
Which to Choose?
The Palm of Love,
Which to Lose?

Yellow Eyes filled with Trust,
Brown Eyes filled with Hope,
As the days grow Shorter,
So does the ability to Cope.

Hold back the Shivers,
Hold back the Shake.
Don’t let the winters Chill,
Keep all She has to Take.

She Loves with a Love deeper than Species,
He loves with a Love deeper than Regret.
They hold each other tighter,
As the Frigid Cold takes effect.

One as practical as the Sun,
The other as willful as the Moon.
Grasping the time with shaking hands,
Knowing it will all end much too soon.

As their lips meet the precious time stops,
A few seconds more to feel,
To take refuge in each other’s arms,
Knowing what Winter will ultimately steal.

Peace found in cold,
A future hidden in the breath,
Peace found in pain,
A name spoken until death.

I know that the rhyme scheme and style don't match but it was purely spur of the moment.
