Loneliness

Loneliness

A Poem by Fillmyeyes

some nights I wake
to a familiar touch
a soft whisper
warm breath
upon my skin
~
I reach
but you are not there
~
I gasp to breathe
the air heavy on my  chest
~
I listen yet there are no longer
whispers to be heard
~
I see nothing in the
blackest night
~
I feel only the cold breath
of loneliness upon my skin
~
I cry, but my cries
are drowned by
the silence
~
