Fade to Black

Fade to Black

A Poem by Jack E.

Dam the flow 'fore the grind
Future present, past unwind

Break apart - the pieces of the sky
Within time your bones will cry

Embedded guilt screwed off the top
Killing you softly, won't ever stop

Tooth of dragon in the eyes of fire
Bliss in Hell for payment higher

Nightmare fields beyond the Moors
Wind-scattered hope behind closed doors

Crossing thresholds, fears within
Count the ravens one to then

Five-finger discounted personal traps
Caught inside the story lapse

Turn the page and don't look back
How long until we fade to black?

I love the pattern; it flows nicely. It makes one think.
