Little Bird

Little Bird

A Poem by Tazdevil
"

To my cousin as he ventures into his new life.

"

You came to me injured and dejected
The world had knock you down
You were buttered and bruised
You had lost your life force
You were naked against the elements

Tenderly I built you back up
To fight the world again
I spend many a night keeping you safe
Watching, listening, waiting

Today is the day I have dreaded
The day you are strong enough to leave
And survive on your own

As I watch you fly away my heart sinks
As I recall all the times we spent
Laughing, crying, arguing over our lives sequences

I wonder if you will be fine?
Will the cruel world put its hands down?
Will you find the happiness you seek?
Will you be wiser to their untruths?

All I can do is watch, wait and hope.
