Winter Spring.

Winter Spring.

A Poem by Fitz

i look outside my window,
i see the flowers blooming,
i hear the birds chirping,
i taste the fresh air of spring.

i look inside my heart,
i see the icesicles thickening on the arteries,
i hear the cracking of the walls that held it together,
i taste the chill of my blood freezing in place.

i walk out my door,
i see the fresh new leaves,
the hope that the new year has brought.

i walk out of my soul,
i see the fresh new pains,
the hopeless of the loss the new year has given.

the world continues on,
Your loss goes unnoticed like the blink of an eye.

i cannot continue on,
Your loss hits me like a train, the pain goes deeper than the memories i cling to.

spring had arrived, starting anew.

winter has not ended, it becomes the newest permanent fixture of the days.
