Russian Nights

Russian night

Engulf me in white

So that I may die

Under your sky

 

Russian night

Hear my plight

Erase the blame

With snow white flame

 

Russian night

I will not fight

Your winds will sing

A lullaby they bring

 

Russian night

Your foes you smite

Hold me dear

Death I do not fear

 

Russian night

Hold me tight

In claws of ice

My life the price

 

Russian night

Born of spite

Life of pain

And frozen rain

 

Russian night

Cowards take flight

Your bloodied knife

Ends a life

 

Russian night

Your skies alight

Bright with Death

Take my last breath

    

Russian night

To you I write

I offer my soul

To make you whole

 

Russian night

I follow your light

Through nightmares and dreams

A coat frayed at the seams

 

Russian night

Russian knight

To end your strife

I’d give my life

I couldn't sleep I wanted to write this so bad! I don't know why I wrote this, but I think its just kinda cool... Any feedback/criticsm is greatly appreciated!

Those Russian winter nights can be savage. It wouldn't take long for one of them to claim your life, if you were out there unprepared. Interesting write, on an interesting subject.

I saw the old movies of Russian. I live in Michigan. Our winter are mild compare to Russian. Your poem took me to the cold of winter. I like the repetition and the vision create by your poem. Thank you for the excellent poem.
