Peter Pan

Peter Pan

A Poem by Dominik D. Rites
"

I was in your book.

"
Peter Pan

Seeing you with your little hat,
Your smile and guiding hand,
I couldn't quite grasp,
But now I understand,
Why you did that,
But here,
In Neverland,
It became clear.

All along,
You were Captain Hook,
And I was never important,
In your story book.

It's disillusioning when you realize that the whole time you had thought that you mattered to someone, you were wrong.

Fantastic piece. Like dancing with an unlovely memory. Serious art.
As for who put you in this place? They fed this flow. If nothing else, they fed this flow. Regardless of the staggering pain. At least there is that tiny bit of comfort in knowing you OWNED that feeling. Cheers.

I am envious of the artistry in this piece. Word place, strategic placement, those two things definitely are not always the easiest to pull off in a poem such as this. I love it.
