Where's the line?

Where's the line?

A Poem by FocusedAmnesia
"

Where's your line, and what happened to make you finally draw it?

"
Propel yourself forward,
    Fling yourself back.
       Watch the line.

     Smile, nod, repeat.
Practice saying 'I'm fine'.
         Aim to please.

        Spend your life,
Watching that fine line,
 And everything you do.

  Reach your breaking point;
               You're done,
Catering to everyone's needs.

Watch the line,
                                Disappear.

This resonates with me on so many different levels. I really like the way that you convey very powerful human emotions and feelings with a simplicity that is rarely seen. I love the last two lines. They are truly wonderful in the context of this piece. Bisous, Love and Light, Sender

One of the things that I've noticed about this piece is the idea of movement. It reminds me of a girl who used to dance a ton of her work dealt with movement. With that being said I would like to see a really strong image of the movement. You could focus on the act of walking itself. That would be really neat.

Lovely. I know how that feels, always trying to "watch the line." And then when you get so fed up you just forget about it.
Very easy to relate to, and a nice, smooth read.
Great job.

Fantastic. Really shows what's going to happen when you cross the line... You cross the line too far and it will eventually disappear... usually crossing the line would lead to a terrible braking point and you've certainly told us that! Fantastic writing once again!
Favorite lines:
"Smile, nod repeat,
Practice saying I'm fine
Aim to please"
Sometimes you'll just get so sick of pleasing everyone one but your self and you've express that in my next favorite line. :)
"Reach your breaking point; you're done," Amazing line right there!
Keep up amazing work!
