Don't

Don't

A Poem by Nana Carmine
"

A poem I wrote late one night

"

Don’t tell me you love me

I take it far too seriously

Don’t hold me

I think it means you want to stay

Don’t kiss me

It makes me want more and more

I’m afraid

Don’t make me think you want me

Because one day you will leave me all alone

And I will miss all the unspoken promises

So please

Don’t make me think you’re serious

Don't worry, you're not alone. We all think and create something without any reasons. We only do that to explore ourselves to know who we really are.

Anyway, I have to agree with everything you just wrote down. It show that it's the best not to rush anything until you know what you want for sure. It's all good...

I really like this... It reminds me of the start of a new relationship after getting burnt.

I think you wrote this very well. It reminds me that it is so very hard to come back from a grand relationship and even harder to try and start a new one after. This was very well done and I'll have to thank Caffeine for sending it to me.

I can relate to this so well.
I used to think this way too.
At one point of time, in my life I was scared of getting into a relationship because I was so sure that I wouldn't survive if it ended.
So I stayed single for a lot of years.

Then one day, I was swept off my feet.
It lasted for a glorious two years, leaving me with priceless memories that can die only with my last breath.
Yes, that relationship did not last forever; my apprehensions did come true.

I am having a hard time living without him.

Your poem took me back by so many years, letting me live those moments once again - those moments of fear, apprehension, love, laughter, heartbreak and grief.
Thanks for the journey back into time.

This is such a great write.

I like this one as is. I don't really have anything to say about it. I can see so many people out there who have this going on in there lives right. Maybe it varies, a tad bit. But it's happening to them. Maybe they're scared of what they're feeling or of the person. Maybe they're tired of being pulled and then, pushed away...

Woh, Very Cool And True Write! I am so like this poem. Well, for me, i'm too vulnerable when it comes to love. My heart gets trashed too easily, and i am always left heartbroken, is what i mean. I don't know what it is, but i think i am cursed in love, as they say hehe. Now i'm extremely cautious these days. Thank u so much for sharing. I can relate to this a lot.
