What We Remember From What We Forgot

What We Remember From What We Forgot

A Poem by Ashton
"

This is an older poem I wrote when I was feeling a bit lost in life. I wrote it to remind myself that like time, we always go forward. This is apart of my poetry project titled "Notes From a Skeleton"

"

Observing from afar

We stay silent in the crowd

Pieces of ourselves forgotten

We live as ones who wander

Gazing out into the desert

Walking paths we know as forward

Distance traveled remains immeasurable

As the landscape remains the same

Days or years refuse to matter

For time only knows one way

And in these moments I remember

We are time, and time is change

Time is change, and there is no way around it. The only place to escape it is now. Perhaps, as some say, God is the eternal now.
