A REFLECTION'S OUTBURSTA Poem by ForlornYeojaThis are the thoughts of a girl who's sick of people comparing her to other people. Hoping to succeed but she always end up failing.
Looking
closer in the mirror Hoping
to see me clearer, As
the night gets darker So
does my character. I,
who wants to be free Gets
nothing but a pea. Desiring
to find the answer key, This
is more than just a daughter’s plea. Crying
is for the weak But
I already reached the peak. I
badly wanted to speak, Guess
I’m nothing more than a meek. I
wanted to fly high, But
this time all I can do is sigh. For
sure my life is a lie Why
can’t I just die? They
did nothing but to compare Which
leaves me in despair. I
too scared to share, But
don’t you think it’s unfair? I
think I’m cursed. You
guys are the worst. Why
can’t I be the first? Someday,
you’ll see my outburst. A
reflection’s outburst. © 2018 ForlornYeojaAuthor's Note
