Weep Not

Weep Not

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

Sonnet

"

Weep not, as Autumn's gold leaves are falling
To sleep no more in pain,'tis God's calling

This earthly plane brings but tears and grieving
yet~aches my heart, upon your soul leaving
He's lessen your distress, took as His own
lifted life's burdens, and carried you home
Yes,the Oak tree still stands, as strong winds blow
At the foot of mountains, slender trees grow
and eagles fly high, as ever before
your spirit boards their wings with them to soar
Above the mountain top~ you're smiliing down
Seen from a diff'rent light~ what beauty found

To sleep no more in pain,'tis peace and rest
Weep ne'er a tear~ as Autumn's trees undress

It's all about letting go and remembering isn't it?

Well done

beautiful poem - loved it, really I did. The only thing I would suggest you change is the font you've used. While it works very well for a sonnet, it is hard to read and can slow the reader down. best fo luck, and keep wiritng :)

"To sleep no more in pain,'tis peace and rest
Weep naught for me as Winter's trees now stand undressed"

I love the whole thing but the ending lines hold a wonderful feel. Today was our first snow fall. It has been snowing for 19 hours and will continue for 6-8 hours. Winter trees standing undressed, what imagry.

I worked in long term care for years. First as a CNA, then a med tech. Finally I did 3 years as an RN. I have seen much death. It is sometimes a very beautiful thing. It is a part of life. There are times when it is welcome in the light of pain and long suffered illness.

In a life celebrating great faith that the afterlife is full of reward, death is not to be feared.

I enjoy the way your words comfort those left behind.
