Color me

Color me

A Poem by Fran Marie

Color me a rainbow
  sprinkled with golden dreams
             with dashes of wishes
                       in  purples, blues and green

Color a me a heaven
  with cotton-candy-clouds
amid a sky of azure blue
                   Color me sweet red roses
                         kissed by  fresh morning dew

Color me some raindrops
   Splashes of misty-crystal hue
with wet blades of silky green grass
                                     to run barefoot thru~

Color me lofty trees
dressed in autumn's shades of gold
Clusters of scarlet and brown ones
on the ground, as the seasons unfold

Color me a white-winter-wonderland
with whistling wind and whirling snowflakes
flying around in the crisp- cool air
Then color me right into a verdant green spring
where robins sing without a care

Color me back to summer
     Beneath a yellow-lemon '(sun')'
Then color me a silver moon
                 and black starlight night
                                when the day is done

The imagery used throughout this poem is simply enchanting! A delight to read. I enjoy how you wrap it up in the beginning. This could also be a children's poem. I will be reading this to my youngest daughter :)

The picture is breathtaking! An exquisite write, my friend!

hey, i like this piece. especially with the picture, it reminds me of innocence and children's wonder at the world.

suggestions:
"thru" to "through"
"Brown" to brown
"starlilight" to "starlight"
"verdent" to "verdant"

i like how the rhyming isn't overdone. the imagery is written well, really brings the colors to life, not only with sight, but also touch and even sound. the spacing is refreshing, too. i really love color as well as nature, and this poem is a great write.
