A Borrowed Rose

A Borrowed Rose

A Poem by Fran Marie

little lithe bird
fragile feathered friend
Is it so that a new day began

what weather do you bring
to sing of this fair day
has refreshing rain washed
trifle troubles away
have you brought me
one red rose of happiness plucked
from a new bride 's sweet bouquet

how I love fawning over you
but I know you cannot stay
I'll watch the rising sun
and wait for your return
to brighten yet another day

dearest Fran... an ode to a feathered friend...
to spend some time listening to a song with hope
and readiness for flight... as petals from a Bride's bouquet
flutter in the wind until another day... Prayers for the
suppressed in their quest for freedom. Amen Pat
