Lady in White

Lady in White

A Poem by Fran Marie
"

ode to Jean Harlow

"
She's moonlight in
white satin and pearls
realizing her midnight dreams

sun kissed cotton
cool as summer's
sweet breeze
whiter than winter's fallen snow..

haute couture dressed
stepping off fashion pages
of white lace and iced diamonds

oh ~she knows her worth..

she's springtime
white linen
fresh as morning dew
at dawn's light

oh ~she's everything right

this lady in white

Growing up in the boondocks without TV or access to movie theaters, I do not know these actors you've been highlighting in verse lately, but I can relate to the times nevertheless. I remember how everything white was the height of fashion, whether in clothing or Christmas decor. You capture many precise & memorable details (((HUGS)))

Yes she was both beautiful and classy. Your tribute certainly comes across that way. You know Fran, I just love some of those old movies, curled up on a cold wet afternoon. Nice glass of wine and I have found a spot of heaven.

yes ..classy lady..that she was
Thanks Dale;
Yes, she always seemed to be dressed in white...her body flowed with her dresses...and she oozed sensuality...
and died so young...
your poem speaks of midnight and moonlight...black and white, like the film noir movies she made so often.
I hope at least that she felt she had achieved...even at her young age of 28 as her kidneys failed her.
