Dark Despair

Dark Despair

A Poem by Fran Marie

Shadows of dark despair
blocking bright views and light
my soul caught in vague darkness
deep deep down evil
    haunts~ taunts me

many times my courage fades
becoming a demon's victim~
their evil prey
dark storms of despair
sinking destiny to the
bottomless pit..

heavy burdens weigh fathoms
deep
an albatross noose 'round
my neck
steel anchors pulling down
a deadlock
metal on mental musings
of my mind

yes dark depths take control
this terror of torture prevails
Intense sadness survives
happiness fails..

days turn to months,as tears
laden my eyes
death's pale face appears
within sinister shadows
 for an infinite time and
a phantom moon mocks
  a starless sky

"vague darkness" is the worst...that murky blackness of which we cannot understand...we are left groping for answers.
I sometimes feel this poem...I feel madness approaching...I get a lost feeling and cannot figure out how to get back.
deep, dark piece that is felt more than read.

Thank you Sean for
reading and the kind review😈
When darkness take the light from us. Hard to rise-up.
"yes dark depths take control
this terror of torture prevails
Intense sadness survives
happiness fails"
The above lines. We shall know. Living can be a hard teacher sometimes dear Fran. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

This is powerful and haunting ...dark, trapped, terror, torture.... nothing to hope for; you are in a black abyss and cannot seem to escape this horrible mood, and nothing seems to help you escape, not even the moon.
A very compelling write Fran.
