White Sail

White Sail

A Poem by Francis J Grasso

Wild water wash my cares away,
west wind blow me free.
White sail fill my heart with joy,
sing my soul, with glee!

Sky now be my sanctuary,
ocean be my home.
Cover me in clouds and spray;
let me out to roam.

Don't nourish me with your selfish lies,
remove the glib deceit.
I no longer want this earth of yours
beneath my shackled feet.

Old dreams take these bonds away;
new dreams give me lease.
Take me out to live again
on the stormy sea of peace.
