A Child's Fight

A Child's Fight

A Poem by Frank Pendergrast

A child born in the wrong place, founded in hate, has always been a disgrace but can't seem to change his fate. His father never showed and his mother never slowed, he was an outcast and always loathed. The child could never do anything right, the end never in sight. To this day he lives in fright because, even now, there's always a fight.

Wow, this poem has such a raw emotion to it. The connotation really brings it alive, every line is like a stab in the heart. And yet in many cases it is so true. Beautiful concept. Thank you for sharing.
