Blind

Blind

A Poem by Fraser Murray
"

F**k everything

"
So, do I add this day to my morbid little list,
"Days I didn't kill myself"?
Or do I finally take a stand?
Reject this life as I demand one that's worth f*****g living,
Though the assumption that i even have the power to demand anything here is arrogant at best,
Too weak even to grab hold of freedom,
People pass by and I seethe as I see them
Their tiny lives, amplified in import by some function of the mind,
The things they find important; work and play and sons and daughters,
Are all nothing
Yet to that foolish individual, they are the building blocks of the entire universe.
Oh, to be so ignorant.
To have a mind so beautifully blind to everything that tortures mine,
I wish it was that easy.
