Stolen Happiness

I just made this, so tell me what you think please.

Its gone now

The happiness you stole from me

You stole It when I wasn’t even aware

You promised and you took a swear

 

Uncertain if I will ever get it back

For how long does it leave

I’m losing myself, drifting away

Not even sure how long I can stay

 

Dissolving into nothingness

Fading into the air

Dying in so much despair

 

Can it be replaced

Can it be repaired

Can’t you just make this fair

 

I’ve finally decided I’m moving on

Leaving this all behind

Searching for new happiness, or whatever I can find

 

You’re wrong and I’m right

So I’ve decided not to even fight

Because I’m moving on

i feel for you :( i know what its like. this poem touched me right where it hurt but for some reason this poem, just like me in my situation seems to lack the resolve of "i'm moving on" and it seems like an empty phrase. was that the intent? because if it is this poem couldn't be any more real than that.

You capture very nicely the bleak despair ( of a failed relationship? ) .
From the opening verses of misery to the resigned but stoic mood of the last two verses I could empathise a lot . Can your happiness be replaced? For sure :-)
