The Judas Tree

The Judas Tree

A Poem by Freya Scott-Rockel
"

I got the inspiration for this while noticing à few Judas trees in the my local area recently. I always imagine as if they are aware of the story surrounding them.

"
The Judas tree drips heavy with its flowers of regret

Grasping at burnt tears of crimson, bloody buds beget

A tale of sorrow that its branches never could forget.

Its sits alone atop the hill,

While gathered just across

The giggling daffodils will glow, oblivious of loss,

Despite its wistful wonderings, the world will bloom the same

And bring a shining sea of blossom to engulf its shame.
